Announces, Working Woman Magazine Nomination Walnut
Creek, Calif., January 11, 2000---HATIS® Corporation (formerly
Life Sounds Incorporated) today announced Alice M. Morgan, CEO has been nominated
by Working Woman Magazine's annual Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards 2000. Bernadette
Grey, the magazine's Editor-In-Chief, said "Morgan joined hundreds of pioneering
entrepreneurial women who are succeeding in today's competitive business environment".
Morgan and her company are building the pre-eminent brand in the hearing
health care market for hearing assisted devices serving 30,000,000 American HIPs
(Hearing Impaired People). Her patented product, HATIS, (Hearing Aid Telephone
Interconnect Systems) targets the rapidly growing 79,000,000 Boomer population
buying increasingly greater numbers of hearing aids and associated devices. "This
demographic", according to Morgan, "like myself, is just beginning to discover
how much we damaged our hearing from those loud rock-n-roll music days of youth
past, not-to-mention the naturally-evolving aging process we review in the mirror
every morning." HATIS enables HIPs who wear telecoil-enabled hearing
aids to convert ordinary aids from amplification devices to receiving units using
a standard headset jack. "HATIS", says Morgan, "offers HIPs understanding of individual
sounds so profound as to provide cell and wireless communication never before
experienced with such clarity -- sometimes not at all". "With the proliferation
of electronic devices just beginning to convert our lives to an all-digital world,
HATIS' technology is exactly the right product at the right time for our ever-so-active
population of doers", said Morgan. HATIS begins shipping new devices
late this month or first week of February with initial introduction of three "Made-in-the-USA"
products: HATIS Freedom - for cell and wireless phones; HATIS Citizen- for home
and travel (depending on demand) and HATIS Epic - for multi-media use (Internet/TV/radio/computer/CD
and other audio out-put devices) later in the first quarter. (Note: HATIS Citizen's
release has been postponed until 3rd quarter 2000) Retail prices are
$199.50 for Freedom Single, 299.50 for Freedom Dual. and $99.50 for the Epic multi-media
systems. HATIS will be available directly through HATIS' toll-free number (1-877-U-HEAR-ME),
E-mail ( HEARME@HATIS.com ) and on its World Wide Web site (introduction third
week in January). The company is in negotiation with major hearing health
care providers for international distribution channels and expects to announce
contracts as they are signed.
